It is my great honor, on behalf of the Health Support Services Center at the Ministry of Health, to welcome you to the Blood Transfusion Services Center Conference. This event reflects our ongoing national efforts to enhance the quality and efficiency of blood transfusion services in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, under the generous patronage of our wise leadership and the guidance of His Excellency the Minister of Health.
This conference serves as a vital scientific platform for exchanging expertise and sharing best practices in transfusion medicine, reinforcing our commitment to achieving the highest standards of quality and safety. In recent years, blood banks across the Kingdom have witnessed major progress in infrastructure, accreditation, biosafety, and digital transformation. Among the most notable achievements is the innovative use of drones during the Hajj season to deliver blood units rapidly and safely — a pioneering step that showcases the readiness and resilience of our health system.
We are also honored to host, for the first time in the Kingdom, the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB)through its AABB Highlights program, reflecting our dedication to international collaboration and continuous scientific advancement.
My deepest gratitude goes to our blood donors, whose selfless contributions save lives and sustain our healthcare system — true heroes who embody the values of compassion and social responsibility.
